A Haliburton Highlands Secondary School student has been elected as the new student trustee for the Trillium Lakelands District School Board.
Grade 11 student Carmen Galea encourages other students to get involved.
She says her goal is to make schools in the area environmentally friendly, and to make everyone feel safe in their own school.
