Highlands East May Increase the Cost of Building Permits

Building permits in Highlands East could be getting more expensive.

CMO Shannon Hunter says the municipality is looking at increasing the cost of a permit for a home to 61-cents per square foot, to 70-cents.

The reason for the increase is to be in-line with other municipalities in Haliburton County.

Highlands East Council is looking into passing the by-law for the increase at its meeting on June 6^th.
