A fatal fire Friday evening in a home on Cty Road 21 in Minden Hills is under investigation.
During the initial investigation by the fire department, human remains were located inside the residence.
As a result, the Fire Marshall along with the Haliburton Highland OPP Crime Unit and Central Region Forensics Identification Unit have been asked to assist in the investigation.
The extent of the fire is severe which has made it difficult to have the remains removed for identification.
The investigation is ongoing and updates will be done once made available.
