Support local women and children by eating ice cream

A date has been set to honour and support the courage of the women and children who stay at YWCA Crossroads Shelter.

The event is on August 6^th, at the Central Smith Creamery in Peterborough.

Communications Coordinator Miriam Lyall says the money raised will go into the organization.

Lyall says the shelter is full 92.5 per cent of the time.

She encourages residents to make the drive to Peterborough to help support women and children fleeing violence.
