Scott dicusses human trafficking with two MPPs

Laurie Scott has joined two other MPPs to discuss human trafficking with local stakeholders and frontline workers.

Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock MPP Laurie Scott says over 150 municipalities across Ontario have passed resolutions in support of her legislation.

Scott says Bill 158 would allow the courts to issue a protective order for victims of human trafficking over the age of 15 against a trafficker for a minimum of three years.

Kitchener-Waterloo MPP Catherine Fife says it’s important to bring community leaders together to take action on this critical issue.

Kitchener-Conestoga MPP Michael Harris says the hope is they can shine a spotlight on this ongoing tragedy to put a stop to those who profit through preying on youth.
