Dysart Council told to reject proposed Military Testing Facility

The Dysart Public Meeting Committee says council should refuse the proposed Military Testing Facility application. Director of Public Planning Pat Martin says the Town’s received two petitions so far. One had 112 signatures. Over 200 people packed the Haliburton Legion last week to voice their opinions about the facility proposed by Armatec Survivability.  The company plans to purchase 2,300 acres of land for the site. Concerns include property value and the environment and tourism. The site would be located on Peterson Road and Elephant Lake Road. Council will vote on the issue on March 24.
