A new accessible deck and ramp is getting built at the Stanhope Airport soon.

Last year, the township of Algonquin Highlands called for tenders for the removal of the existing deck and construction of a new deck and ramp.

The project failed because bids were not submitted on time or properly.

Airport Manager Cam Loucks says they ended up hosting individual site inspections to get quotes from contractors.

Council has approved the quote from Mark Thompson Construction for $27,000.

Loucks says the project should be done by Fall.
