Our local chamber tells businesses about Bill 132

As of yesterday, businesses in Haliburton County must implement Bill 132.

Haliburton Highlands Chamber Manager Autumn Smith says employers must implement detailed procedures to investigate workplace harassment, including sexual harassment.

Smith says employers have to work with their workplace health and safety committee or representative to implement a plan.

The plan should include reports of how harassment will be handled, how information will be collected and disclosed, and how incidents and harassment will be investigated.

Smith says Bill 132 also gives inspectors the power to order employers to hire an investigator.
