News Gooderham Post Office looks to relocate SHARE ON: Kaitlin Livingston, contributor, Monday, Sep. 12th, 2016 Nearly 400 residents in Highlands East want answers about the Gooderham Post Office. They have signed a petition for a public meeting on the issue. This comes after council provided 180 days written notice to Canada Post of intent to terminate the dealership agreement. Highlands East CAO Shannon Hunter says currently the post office is in the municipal building, but this isn’t something that’s a common practice. The municipality doesn’t want to lose a post office in town, but they do want it to be moved. Hunter says Canada Post is looking to find a suitable location in the area. Council says this could be an economic boost to a local business.
