Our local health unit wants young men to snap a photo to encourage others to make healthier choices.

The Haliburton-Kawartha-Pine Ridge District Health Unit says men between 19 to 29 years of age are being asked to demonstrate ways to reduce their risk of cancer.

Officials say drinking less alcohol, becoming more active, eating fruit and vegetables, becoming tobacco free and being sun smart are ways to lower the risk.

They say if young men are up for the challenge, they can post pictures of how they make healthier choices on The Man Made contest Facebook page.

The contest starts on October 1st.
