October is Child Abuse Prevention Month and our local children’s aid society is asking everyone to speak up for kids.
The Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Aid Society says we all play a role in keeping children safe and well cared for.
Last year, the society received over 4,800 calls about children and provided services to over 6,000 kids in our area.
This month, they’re asking everyone to raise awareness around speaking up for kids if you think they’re at risk of harm.
People are also encouraged to wear purple on October 16th to support the campaign.
