With the holiday season quickly approaching, the Haliburton Highlands OPP wants you to be aware of thieves.
They say stores and parking lots will have an increase in shoppers on a mission, which provides an opportunity for people to steal.
The OPP says to carry a minimum amount of cash, and park in an area well lit. Officials say when paying with your card, do not expose your PIN number.
They say not to leave your purse on the seat of your car, or in the cart while you load groceries or parcels.
