The Haliburton Highlands OPP wants to make sure your gifts make it under the Christmas tree this season. The holiday season is well underway, and police don’t want your purchases to end up into the hands of a thief.
They say to only carry around a small amount of cash. They say not to carry around a large amount of gifts. Take them to your car, and secure them in a trunk or place them on the floor and cover them with a blanket.
When it comes to parking your vehicle, make sure doors are locked, and windows are shut. Failing to do this, is an open invitation to thieves.
Police say to please do your part in making this year’s holiday shopping season a safe and memorable experience.
Remember, crime is preventable.
