The Haliburton Highlands OPP wants snowmobilers to enjoy this upcoming winter season.
Our local OPP is offering tips. Constable Tim Negus says to stay on the marked Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Club trails. Negus says to always carry ice picks on you, and to remember to stop at R.I.D.E checks.
He says no ice is safe ice, and conditions change due to several factors. Negus says always leave a detailed plan of your route with someone. The OPP will be out in full force checking people’s speed on the trails this season.
