Literacy Tests Will Continue To Be On Paper Because Of a Cyber-Attack

It’s still paper and pencils for standardized testing for Haliburton students.

In October, an online trial of the province-wide standardized test was interrupted because of a cyber-attack.

CEO Richard Jones says they are pressing pause on an online system, but they are not hitting stop. EQAO officials are gathering feedback from boards, teachers, and students and will consider that information before deciding to move forward with an online test.

The cyber-attack is still under investigation. Students will take their EQAO tests in March 2017.
