Highlands East is looking at putting a water protection plan into place. Municipal Planner Chris Jones says things that cause a threat to water shouldn’t be on two wellhead protection areas, which are around Cardiff’s and Dyno Estate’s wells. He says waste disposal systems, salt and snow storages, and manure are examples of threats to our drinking water. Jones says the proposed plan will require a Risk Management official to monitor and report on measures taken to keep the water safe.
