A water safety warning is in effect for the area. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is putting the notice out after the rainfall over the holiday. With the cooler temperatures, the banks and shorelines are extremely slippery and unstable. The MNRF says to be extremely cautious around water, and avoid traveling on newly formed ice. The water safety warning is in effect for Muskoka, Parry Sound, and the north-west portion of Haliburton County.
