Local students are now on Christmas holidays, and the Bancroft OPP wants them to be safe.
Constable Philippe Regamey says kids should safe around the ice.
Regamey is also encouraging kids to wear helmets and safety gear while sledding, skating, skiing, or snowmobiling.
Children should also remind their parents to put the phone down while driving, and always wear their seatbelts.
