OPP says Heavy Snow Will Stick Around for Three Days

Parts of our regionĀ could be getting a lot of snow over the next three days.

Environment Canada says there is going to be strong winds today and tonight as well as snow squalls.

On Friday, officials say snow squalls will continue. On Saturday, there will be very cold air and snow squalls with wind chills in the minus 3os.

The Haliburton Highlands OPP wants residents to stay off the roads if they can during this period. They say visibilities will be poor. They say if you are travelling, make sure to have an emergency kit in your vehicle with food, water, and something for warmth.

Also, always make sure your cell phone is completely charged before heading out.

The OPP says when you are driving make sure there is plenty of space between you and the vehicle in front of you in case you have to stop quickly.
