Dysart needs to fix a few bridges this year

Some of the bridges in Dysart may be getting a facelift. Public Works Interim Director Rob Camelon is asking for $115,000 to fix the walls and replace the deck at Paddy’s Pond Bridge, and for a detailed study of Eagle Lake Bridge. The request was made during last week’s budget meeting, where Camelon also asked council to keep the Oblong Narrows Bridge in mind. It needs to be reconstructed, which will cost around $700,000. However, the municipality applied for a provincial grant which could cover up to 90 per cent of that cost. Council will look at those numbers when going over this year’s budget.
