Updates: Freezing Rain Warning For Haliburton County on January 17th

Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for Haliburton County. Roads, sidewalks, and parking lots will become icy, slippery and dangerous.

Update 9:50am: The Haliburton Highlands High School has cancelled its Grease show for tonight, and it’s been rescheduled for next Tuesday, January 24th. If you have bought tickets for tonight’s show you can use them next Tuesday.

Update 11:20am: Fleming College is cancelling all classes at all campuses today. All the buildings will stay open.

Update 11:30am: The Stanhope Library Branch won’t be open today because of the weather.

Update 11:50am: The OPP says conditions are right for black ice and flash freezing in areas. Please drive accordingly. Reports of ice pellets in Minden, avoid the area if you can.

Update 12:16pm: Haliburton County Public Library’s Minden branch will be closing today at 3:00pm. The Gooderham branch is closed today.

Update 2:50pm: All the municipal offices in Highlands East will be closing early today.

Update 3:00pm: It looks like we could be getting hit with freezing rain again at 4:00pm.
