Haliburton is looking at ways to keep doctors in the community. CAO Michael Rutter says the goal is to hire doctors for four-year terms, during which time they’ll promote the community to try and convince them to stay after their term is up. Council is going to look at taking on the cost to pay students and physicians who can commit to the four-year term, by potentially putting $100,000 into the budget to hire two new doctors this year.
