Ontario Council of Hospital Says Local Hospitals Need A Proper Clean

The Ontario Council of Hospital Unions is pushing the government to clean up local hospitals. Union representatives, Louis Rodrigues and Nicholas Black, were in Haliburton last week raising red flags about the cleanliness of the healthcare facilities. Black says hospitals across the country are horribly underfunded, and people are dying because of it.

Black says three-thousand Ontario patients die every year after getting an infection during a hospital stay. He says high bed occupancy, overcrowding, and rapid patient turnover are all factors. The union is pushing the province to invest more money to help lower the risk of hospital-acquired infections.
