You can try your hand at fishing in Haliburton County this weekend, no strings attached. The province says, across Ontario, you can fish for free over the family day long weekend, meaning you won’t need a fishing licence or outdoors card.
There will also be another free weekend of fishing in July. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says you will still need to follow the rules, like staying away from designated marine-life sanctuaries.
