A few changes to the Haliburton County proposed budget haven’t made a huge difference to the final result.
The current increase to residential taxes sits at just over 4.8 per cent, which is about a nine dollar increase on a $100,000 home.
During a meeting in early February, council proposed to assist the YWCAÂ with a $12,500 donation, while removing $20,000 from the tourism budget.
A major budget focus this year is updating infrastructure, with over $3.5 million going into various services and projects.
Treasurer Elaine Taylor says focusing on infrastructure sustainability will help smooth out large budget fluctuations in the future.
Council will review the budget once again tonight before it is expected to be approved on March 23rd.
