Lakes and rivers could see some high water levels in Haliburton County this weekend

An upcoming heavy rain storm may cause some dangerous water conditions around Haliburton County.

The Parry Sound District of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is warning residents in Haliburton that a major storm is expected to hit this weekend.

This could bring about 40 mm of rainfall between Friday and Saturday, which will cause higher and faster water flow in lakes and rivers.

While this can present a dangerous situation for anyone going near river banks or out on the ice, there is no concern for flooding at this time.
