It was close, but no records were broken for mild temperatures in February

Temperatures in February we’re milder than usual, but not quite record-breaking.

That’s according to Environment Canada Meteorologist Geoff Coulson.

Coulson says there is some missing weather data, but it looks like the temperature set in 1981 stands as the mildest February on record.

Coulson says we are expecting colder-than-normal temperatures heading into this weekend, with forecasted lows of around minus 20.

The average overnight low for this time of year is minus 12 degrees.
