A winter full of heavy snow and bad weather is leaving Canadian Blood Services short of blood donors

The heavy snow this winter is wreaking havoc on local blood donor clinics. Muskoka Territory Manager for Canadian Blood Services, Elaine St. Pierre, says in the last three months local clinics only reached 95 per cent of the target donor number.

St. Pierre says that’s not enough because the numbers are closely aligned with what hospitals need.

She says the bad winter has caused clinic cancellations, and stopped people from venturing out. There is a clinic in Haliburton on March 27th.

Go to the Canadian Blood Services website to book an appointment, or take an eligibility quiz to see if you can donate or not.
