Human trafficking is a growing issue in Ontario, and now Laurie Scott is helping to raise awareness. The Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock MPP is hosting a public meeting in Lindsay on Thursday night, to provide information and give details on how the community can help to tackle the issue.

A survivor of human trafficking, police, and victim services will all be joining Scott at the meeting, which is open to everyone. Scott also has a Private Members’ Bill in the works, called Saving the Girl Next Door Act. The goal is to better protect victims of human trafficking and raise awareness.

The public meeting is at 7:00pm at the Fairview Baptist Church, 130 Colborne Street West in Lindsay,
