Federal budget isn’t hitting the mark for Jamie Schmale

Jamie Schmale isn’t impressed with the recently released federal budget. The Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock MP says the Trudeau government is following a trend of reckless spending, and the projected deficit is almost three times higher than promised during the election.

Schmale says it’s costing hard-working Canadians, and that debt is going to fall on the shoulders of future generations. However, Schmale says the good news is that the budget includes a continued investment into upgrading internet in rural areas, as well putting cash into roads and bridges.

Overall he says the Liberal government’s promise to balance the books by 2019 has been broken.

The federal government is projecting a $28.5 billion deficit for the year.
