Scott: More needs to be done to help people on long-term care waiting lists

Laurie Scott is looking for some action when it comes to the lack of long-term care beds in Haliburton.

The MPP for Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock says the Central East Local Health Integration Network has the highest wait times for long-term care beds in the province. She says there are almost 2,000 people on the waiting list right now.

However, the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care, Eric Hoskins says the government is acting.

Hoskins also notes around 10,000 beds have opened up in Ontario since 2003. But, Scott says that’s not enough, and more needs to be done to stop people from dying on a waiting list.
