Dahl Forest to be named a Canada 150 property

Haliburton’s Dahl Forest is among the select few getting national recognition for its efforts to help the environment. Environment and Climate Change Canada is dedicating the forest as a Canada 150 property, one of only 150 properties across the country to get that honour.

Haliburton Highlands Land Trust owns and oversees the forest, which was gifted to them by the Dahl family in 2009. Board Member Joan Duhaime says the partnership between land donors and organizations like the HHLT is key to ensuring an environmental legacy is built for future generations.

There is going to be a formal dedication and plaque unveiling this fall.
