Charges laid for illegal cow moose hunt

Five men are facing $11,500 in fines for illegally hunting a cow moose. This includes one man from Bancroft who has been fined $3,000, and another from Maynooth who has been fined $1,000.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says two unlicenced men shot the moose in Lake St. Peter, and fired from a road. After shooting the moose, it was left in a ditch while it was still alive, so the men could get a seal from the three other parties involved.

The incident happened last October.
