Local officials are continuing to remind Haliburton residents to be careful of bears, as they’re now coming out of hibernation. This message comes from the province, the OPP, and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.
MNRF Biologist Erin MacDonald says it’s up to you to make sure bears have no reason to come near your home.
You are also being asked to only put garbage out on the morning of pick-up in a well-sealed container.
