The health unit says it’s important to teach kids about healthy habits that will prevent cavities and oral health problems for their overall well-being. Children are recommended to visit a dentist by their first birthday, or when their teeth start coming in. Free oral health clinics are available to local children up to 17-years-old by contacting the health unit at (613) 966-5500, or through the Healthy Smiles Ontario program. This comes as the health unit is recognizing April as Oral Health Month.
