Hastings and Prince Edward Public Health wants you to know about the importance of good oral health in youth.
The health unit says it’s important to teach kids about healthy habits that will prevent cavities and oral health problems for their overall well-being.
Children are recommended to visit a dentist by their first birthday, or when their teeth start coming in.
Free oral health clinics are available to local children up to 17-years-old by contacting the health unit at (613) 966-5500, or through the Healthy Smiles Ontario program.
This comes as the health unit is recognizing April as Oral Health Month.
