Haliburton seeing a decline in library cardholders

The number of library cards handed out in Haliburton is on the decline, but that doesn’t mean the number of users is going down. That’s according to Haliburton County Public Library CEO Bessie Sullivan, who says it’s more likely families are getting one card for the entire family, instead of one card per person.

This comes as the number of cardholders went down by about 580 from 2015 to 2016. Sullivan says the family cards are convenient because they help families keep track of all of their books on loan and potential fines.
