What you need to know about OPP May Day on May 1

Thursday May 1 (tomorrow) is OPP May Day – the day Haliburton County councilors are asking each and every one of us to join the fight against the proposed OPP Billing Model.

Residents are being asked to call, fax, email, and/or tweet to the Premiere and Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services to express our objection to the model.

If this new way of billing municipalities for OPP services goes through, it could mean up to $500 more in taxes a year for each and every one of us.

All the contact information can be found below. You can also use #OPPMayDay when tweeting. For sample tweets you can send, click here.
