Heavy rain is on the way to Haliburton. Environment Canada now has the county under a rainfall warning, saying we could get up to 70 millimeters starting tonight through Sunday.

The weather service says the ground is already near saturation, which means it won’t have much ability to absorb more rainfall. Environment Canada says there could be flooding in low-lying areas, and not to approach washouts near rivers, creeks, and culverts.

The rain will start to taper off Saturday night.
