Flood warning extended

A flood warning across the entire Bancroft area has been extended.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry has put out the warning, saying flooding is imminent or happening in some waterways in the area.

Because the ground won’t be able to absorb all the rain coming down, it will mean more run-offs into waterways.

The MNRF says this could cause flooding in low-lying areas near the York, Madawaska, Burnt, Black, and Irondale rivers.

You are being urged to be extremely cautious near fast-moving rivers and streams, and when using forest access roads.

The Crowe Valley Conservation Authority has also issued a flood outlook statement for parts of Highlands East, North Kawartha, Faraday, Wollaston, Limerick, and Tudor and Cashel.
