Fenelon Falls grocery store gets the green light to sell beer and cider

Haliburton residents will soon have another option to buy beer and cider. The provincial government approved Sobeys’ application to sell the alcohol, in Fenelon Falls. That’s one of 76 new stores authorized. The stores should all be carrying beer by this Canada Day.

There are some requirements for the stores, like any cashier selling alcohol has to be 18-years-old or above, and they have to be trained on Ontario standards, so alcohol isn’t sold to anyone under 19 or who is already intoxicated.

These new stores are on top of the 130 that already sell beer and cider.
