If you are tired of spotty mobile service, help may be on the way.

The Eastern Ontario Regional Network has asked both the provincial and federal governments for just under $300,000,000 to improve mobile data service Haliburton County

EORN Co-Lead Jim Pine says public safety is the primary focus of this public-private sector project.

Pine says the EORN hopes to get approval from both levels of government by the end of the year.  If that happens it will be another four or five years to build the network.

The public-private sector plan will help economic development in the area according to E-O-R-N Co-Lead Jim Pine.

If the EORN receives approval, work could begin in 2019.
