Record rainfall for our region in May

May is not over, but our region has set a record for rain according the Environment Canada.

Meteorologist Steve Knott says we surpassed the 2009 record.

We could add to that record with Environment Canada expecting more rain today.

If you were hoping for warmer temperatures, you may have to wait a little longer.

Knott says the cool and wet weather will likely continue for the foreseeable future.

A jet stream just south of Hudson Bay is keeping the warm air away from us according to Knott.

Knott also says it is impossible to predict the amount of rainfall expected for June.
