The Minden Hills Roads Department filled council chambers May 8 to recognize Neil Hughes’ retirement after 27 years on the job.
Reeve Barb Reid presented Hughes with a plaque commemorating him as a valued member of the roads department who will be missed.
“We hear lots of nice things about you from people and you’re a great example to your colleagues,” said Reid. “We’re very grateful for the service you’ve given the Township of Minden Hills.”
Roads Superintendent Kevin Hill thanked Hughes for his dependability and loyalty to the municipality.
Hill presented Hughes with a watch engraved with the statement, “For 27 years of dedicated municipal service”.
