A fair that has been around longer than Canada starts tonight.
The 153rd edition of The Haliburton County Fair takes place at the Minden Fairgrounds and runs on Saturday as well.
Minden Agricultural Society President Eric Casper says they will be having a craft beer tasting event.
Casper says this year’s musical performances will have a different twist.

He adds that there are plenty of events for children.
The gates at the Minden Fairgrounds open at 5:00 on Friday evening.
