The federal government is investing just under $680,791 boosting summer employment in the region.

Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock M.P. Jamie Schmale said in a release that 99 employers received the money to help create 306 summer jobs.

The money comes from the government’s Canada Summer Jobs program.

Funding is available for public sector employers, not-for-profit organizations and small businesses with 50 or fewer employees.

If a business or organization is looking for funding to provide summer jobs, they will have to wait until next year.
