Haliburton Highlands O.P.P. is investigating a collision involving two school buses on highway 118.
According to police, 51 students were involved and 16 of them have been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The collision happened just after 11:00 this morning near the Camp White Pine turn off.
The O.P.P. and paramedics are on the scene, which has traffic reduced to one lane near the scene.
Haliburton Highlands Health Services has called in extra staff to help at the Haliburton Emergency Room.
