Minden Hills to apply for funding under Ontario Disaster Recovery Assistance Program

The Township of Minden Hills will apply to the province for financial assistance in regards to last month’s flood.

The re-imbursement would be under Ontario’s Disaster Recovery Assistance Program.

Reeve Brent Devolin says the financial aid will help with the extra costs the flood caused.

The state of emergency was lifted May 26, and the township has 90 days from that day to apply for funding under O.D.R.A.P. according to Devolin.

A state of emergency was declared on April 30th due to water levels rising in the Gull River.

They can recover between 75% to 95% of money spent due to the flood.

The township is still determining what that figure will be.
