Haliburton County might be taking steps to preserve the life of the county’s roads.

The Roads Committee will recommend council accept a bid to seal cracks on 19 kilometres of roads.

The sealing will be done on stretches of county roads one, 21, 39, 121 and 503.

The quote the committee is recommending is just over $67,000, which comes under the $84,000 budget set for the road work.

According to a letter in the recommendation, crack sealing will help keep the water out of the asphalt, which should extend the life of the roads.

If council approves the bid at their June 29th meeting, work could begin in the summer.
