Water service repairs to start Wednesday in Cardiff

Repairs to Cardiff’s Water Services start Wednesday.

Highlands East says repairs will start at the north end of Sprucedale Street, before making their way south.

Environmental Supervisor Stewart Hurd says the project includes replacing all water service lines in Cardiff.

Hurd says the intent is to shut off each individual connection as it’s replaced, although the condition of the system’s infrastructure will determine the impact to daily water services.

The repairs are expected to cost almost $1.2-million, with the provincial and federal government set to chip in nearly 60 per cent of that cost.

The project is expected to last about three and a half months.
