Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kawartha Lakes-Haliburton has a big need for volunteers.
According to their website, they have 46 boys and 15 girls looking for a big brother or sister.
Executive Director Jim DeFlorio says it can be a rewarding experience for volunteers.
DeFlorio adds most of the children come from single parent family homes, and are looking for a mentor.
To be eligible to be a big sister or brother, you only need to be 18 or older and should be able to devote three to four hours a week to spend with a child.
If you cannot commit to a few hours a week, DeFlorio says you can be a school mentor.
